What’s Valentine’s Day without a little vintage art from La Vie Parisienne? These gorgeous prints are the work of French illustrator Chéri Hérouard (1881 – 1961) who created some of the original magazine’s most memorable covers. His style is elegant and soft with a touch of playful, which is everything I love about cheesecake style pinup art. Hérouard spent a good share of his life working for the magazine, but he was also known for books illustrations and some of the naughty work that is erotica. I’m absolutely in love with his insect ladies, including the spider woman above and his silent film star Louise Brooks as the caterpillar heart eater that I took a little creative license with over at my Attic Cartomancy blog. Happy Valentine’s Day!
